Steve and Kate Bradford
Steve & Kate BradfordKate and Steve Bradford have been in Berega, Tanzania, East Africa for five years now. They have three children, Benjamin, Nathaniel and Miriam. They have gone with the Church Missionary Society.

Berega is quite a remote village and they have been challenged by this particularly in their first three years. Since a bridge over the river and the introduction of email they now don't feel as cut off from the rest of the world.

Steve works as a medical doctor in the hospital at Berega. The hospital has a number of evangelists who talk to the patients about Jesus and many of the staff are also Christian. Kate has been involved in teaching some courses at the Bible College there when her time allows.

Both have struggled with learning the language of Swahili and long to be more conversant in sharing their faith in Jesus.

Many of the problems of that part of the world strike a cord of compassion in them. Drought makes life very hard for a people who are very poor even in good times. Many people have HIV and the consequence of many people developing AIDS and dying is a very present reality. As Kate and Steve see the presence of death, they long to share the good news of Jesus Christ with people. As Tanzanian Christians testify themselves, knowing Jesus is the only sure hope they have.

Steve & Kate are supported by Church Missionary Society (CMS) - www.cms.org.au
