Katrina Weir
Katrina works with the Crossroads organisation in south-east Asia in coordinating the procurement and delivery of goods to needy places all over the world. Places to which goods have travelled to, thanks to God's direction and the work of Katrina and others, range from Central Asia, Chechnya, India, Uganda and Mozambique, to Romania and the Carribean.

The goods themselves are largely donations made to the Crossroads organisation, and consist of virtually anything that anyone could make use of. Recent shipments include clothes and household furniture, electrical goods, even school desks and chairs.

In a recent prayer email, Katrina said that she heard of an analogy for Crossroads work: "It is like that of a supply ship that goes to battle with a fleet of ships," she said. "The supply ship doesn't actually fight the enemy up front but rather keeps the other ships supplied with food, fuel and equipment. It is a crucial, integral part of the fleet.

"If the events of any one day were completely in my control I am sure in my own (lack of) strength I would place a lot more limitations on, too easily looking at the obstacles and feeling overwhelmed by the enormity of it all."

What can I do?

  • Prayer
Give thanks to God for the grace he shows in moving in people to donate so many much-needed goods, and for the safe passage of the shipments to their final destinations.

Pray for the continuing work of Katrina and others like her in the Crossroads organisation.

  • To recieve Katrina's monthly prayer update, send an email message (with nothing written in it) to kweir-subscribe@egroups.com
