Esther Lukabyo
For more than 40 years OCF has been ministering to students who come from overseas to study in Australia. Most students in OCF come from Asian countries. OCF aims to reach out to students with the gospel of our Lord Jesus, build them up in their faith and send them back to their countries to live out their faith. The time these students spend in Australia is a window of opportunity. As they consider many new things in Australia they get the chance to consider christianity. Working life in Asian countries is extremely busy. At uni OCF students have time to get a lot of christian input. They can grow in their understanding of the Bible. They can learn to share their faith, lead a Bible study or disciple a new christian. Esther mainly works with Sydney University OCF where she provides Bible input,
ministry skills training and pastoral care. She also has some involvement
with other OCF groups. A migrant to Australia herself, Esther finds the
experience she's had of relating to people with cultures different from
her own, has helped equip her for her work in OCF. » Back to who we support
